ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Brain Fog in Sleep Apnea," is looking at how severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) affects people's thinking and memory, often referred to as "Brain Fog." The study aims to compare two groups of patients: those who have been using a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine for at least three months and those who haven't started treatment yet. Through a 30-minute questionnaire, participants will share information about their sleep patterns, daily tiredness, and overall well-being.
To participate, you must be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have been diagnosed with severe OSA (a specific level of sleep apnea severity). The study will recruit 80 patients, equally divided between those on CPAP and those who are not. Participants will visit the Sleep Center Clinic to complete the questionnaire. This trial is important because it hopes to better understand the cognitive effects of severe OSA and how treatment may help improve these symptoms.
