ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying tooth wear, which includes different types of damage to teeth caused by wear and tear, like grinding (attrition), acid erosion, and physical abrasion. The goal is to find out how common tooth wear is among middle-aged adults (ages 31 to 45) who visit the Faculty of Dentistry at Cairo University. The researchers will also look at factors that might affect tooth wear, such as diet, medication use, and dental hygiene habits. They want to see how tooth wear impacts the quality of life for these patients, which means how it affects their daily activities and well-being.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 31 and 45 years old, able to understand questions asked during the study, and provide consent to take part. Unfortunately, if you wear braces or have special needs, you wouldn’t be eligible. If you join, the study will involve a dental examination where your tooth wear will be assessed using a scoring system. This score will help determine how severe the wear is and what risk level you might be at. Overall, this study aims to gather valuable information that could help improve oral health for people in this age group.
