ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Hearables," is looking at a new way to detect abnormal heart rhythms, known as arrhythmias, by using devices that record signals from the ear. Researchers want to find out if these ear-based recordings, called Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Photoplethysmogram (PPG), can reliably identify arrhythmias in patients who already have this condition. They will compare the data from these ear devices to traditional methods of heart monitoring to see how well they work.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, be able to consent to participate, and already have a diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia. If you have any unusual ear anatomy, you may not be eligible. If you decide to join the trial, you can expect to help researchers understand whether this new method of detection is as effective as current practices, which could lead to easier and more accessible heart health monitoring in the future.
