ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Lower Extremity Neuromuscular Assessment in Children with Cerebral Palsy," is focused on understanding how well certain devices can measure muscle strength and activity in the legs of children with cerebral palsy (CP). The study aims to see how reliable two specific tools are: the K-Pull dynamometer, which measures force, and the K-Myo sensor, which checks how active the muscles are without needing any invasive procedures. Researchers will look at children with different levels of mobility and compare their muscle activity, strength, and tone to better understand how these factors relate to each other.

To participate in this study, children must be between 5 and 16 years old and have spastic cerebral palsy, specifically classified at levels I to III on the GMFCS scale, meaning they have some ability to move and walk, either independently or with assistance. They should be able to follow simple instructions. However, children who have had certain treatments affecting muscle function, have sustained injuries, or have difficulty cooperating may not be eligible. Participants can expect a supportive environment where their muscle activity will be assessed through non-invasive methods, contributing valuable information to improve care for children with CP.
