ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different anesthesia techniques, either general (where you are fully asleep) or regional (where only part of the body is numbed), might affect anxiety levels in patients having surgery on their arms, hands, or wrists. The study will enroll about 400 people aged 18 to 65 who agree to participate and are considered healthy enough for surgery. Researchers want to understand not only how the type of anesthesia influences anxiety before surgery but also what specific concerns patients have about the anesthesia and the surgery itself.
If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will be asked questions about your medical history and previous experiences with anesthesia. You will also fill out forms to help measure your anxiety levels and how much information you would like to receive about your surgery. The study will last for one year, from November 2024 to November 2025, and aims to find ways to help reduce anxiety related to anesthesia and surgery, making the experience smoother for patients.
