ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how having a parent present during a child’s stay in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) can affect the child’s comfort and health measurements. The study will take place at the Izmir Dr. Behçet Uz Pediatric Diseases and Surgery Training and Research Hospital and will include children who are hospitalized there. Researchers will compare the child’s breathing rate, heart rate, oxygen levels, temperature, blood pressure, and overall comfort before, during, and after a visit from a parent. This is to see if parental presence helps improve these measurements.
To be part of this study, children must be hospitalized in the PICU, and their parents must agree to participate. However, if parents engage in activities that could influence the child's comfort—like playing music or showing cartoons—they won’t be included. The study aims to provide valuable insights into how family involvement can contribute to a child's well-being during a critical time in the hospital.
