ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of Reiki, a form of energy healing, on pain and sleep quality in patients with diabetic neuropathy, a condition that affects the nerves and can cause pain and discomfort. The researchers will compare three groups: one receiving real Reiki treatment, one receiving a fake or "sham" Reiki treatment, and a control group that does not receive any treatment. Each participant will receive 20 minutes of Reiki for four days. The study will also include interviews with a few participants to gather their personal experiences after the treatment.
To participate, individuals must be over 18 years old, able to communicate in Turkish, and have a certain level of pain and neuropathic symptoms. They should not have any mental health issues, should not have previously received Reiki treatment, and must be willing to engage in the study. Participants can expect to share their experiences regarding their pain levels and sleep quality before and after the treatment. This trial is currently recruiting, and it aims to better understand how Reiki might help improve the lives of those living with diabetic neuropathy.
