ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special exercise program called Pelvic Floor Muscle Exercises (PFME) to see if it can help reduce urinary incontinence in men after they have surgery for prostate cancer, known as radical prostatectomy. The goal is to find out if the exercises are easy to follow and if they can actually make a difference in how much incontinence patients experience. Researchers will look at how many men join the study, complete the exercises, and share their thoughts on the program through interviews. They will also ask participants to fill out questionnaires to measure their quality of life and see if the program shows promise in reducing urinary incontinence.
To be eligible for the trial, men need to be at least 18 years old and have prostate cancer scheduled for surgery at MSK. However, those who have had prior radiation treatment for prostate cancer, already have incontinence before surgery, or have certain health issues that make participation difficult will not be included. Participants can expect to engage in a structured exercise program before and after their surgery, and they will be asked about their experiences and any changes they notice in their condition. This study aims to offer valuable insights into improving recovery from surgery for prostate cancer.
