ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help older adults improve their health through a simple exercise program they can do at home. Specifically, the study will test a 24-week program involving chair-based resistance band training, which is a type of exercise using stretchy bands while sitting in a chair. The goal is to see if this program can help improve balance, strength, and bone density in adults aged 50 and older who visit the UT Physicians Center for Healthy Aging.
To participate, individuals must be English-speaking and currently receiving care at the center. Unfortunately, those who have significant cognitive decline or dementia, or who cannot give consent themselves, will not be eligible for the study. If you join the trial, you can expect to follow this exercise program at home, and the researchers will monitor your progress to understand how well it works for improving physical health.
