ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying patients who are having elective pancreatic surgeries to see if they develop a condition called intra-abdominal hypertension, which is when there is too much pressure inside the abdomen, or abdominal compartment syndrome, which can be a serious complication. The researchers want to understand how common these issues are after surgery and if they are related to complications like leaks or delayed stomach emptying. They will also compare traditional open surgery to robotic surgery to see if one method leads to fewer problems with abdominal pressure.
To join this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a pancreatic surgery. They must also be able to give written consent to participate. Unfortunately, younger patients, those who can't have a urinary catheter, or anyone who chooses not to participate will not be included. If you decide to take part, you'll be helping researchers learn more about these potential complications after surgery, which could improve care for future patients.
