ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how skin-to-skin care, also known as kangaroo care, can help premature babies born at or before 32 weeks of pregnancy. The study aims to find out if regularly holding these tiny infants close to their mothers can increase the chances of them being fed only breast milk when they leave the hospital. It will also check if this type of care helps reduce serious health problems that can occur in premature babies, such as infections and other complications.
To participate in this trial, infants must be born at 32 weeks of pregnancy or earlier. Unfortunately, babies who pass away before they leave the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or have certain birth defects won't be included. Families involved can expect their little ones to receive special skin-to-skin care as part of their treatment while in the NICU, and researchers will track various health outcomes to see how this care impacts their overall recovery and feeding.
