ClinConnect Summary
The INSPIRE Respiratory Health Program is a study taking place in Botucatu, Brazil, aimed at improving how we understand and treat respiratory diseases, especially for individuals affected by tobacco smoking. The study invites adults aged 18 and older who have respiratory symptoms and a history of smoking, either actively or passively, to participate. Researchers will collect important information about participants' health and background to identify those who may have trouble accessing healthcare for their respiratory issues.
Participants in this study can expect to receive screenings for lung function and muscle strength, as well as support for managing respiratory diseases. For those over 40 with significant tobacco exposure, there will also be an opportunity for low-dose chest CT scans to check for lung cancer. The goal is to ensure that everyone in the community, especially those at higher risk due to smoking, gets the healthcare they need. If you or someone you know fits the eligibility criteria, this study could provide valuable support and resources for managing respiratory health.
