It is Accepted That Adenoid Hypertrophy is Related to Otitis Media With Effusion Incidence. Better Understanding of the Correlation Between the Relative Size of AH and the Incidence of Persistent OME May Provide Evidence to Support a More Standardized Approach to the Diagnosis and Treatment of OME.

ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to better understand the relationship between the size of adenoid hypertrophy (which is when the adenoids, located in the back of the throat, become enlarged) and the occurrence of fluid build-up in the middle ear, known as otitis media with effusion (OME). The goal is to gather information that could help create a more consistent way to diagnose and treat OME in children.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be children under 16 years old who have both adenoid hypertrophy and OME. Unfortunately, children with certain medical conditions, like those affecting the palate or other serious health issues, cannot participate. If your child is chosen for the study, they will help researchers learn more about how these two conditions are connected. This could lead to better treatment options in the future for many kids dealing with similar issues.
