ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Biomarkers of Resiliency in Childhood Cancer Surgery," is focused on understanding how children and their families recover after major surgery for cancer. The researchers want to find ways to help improve recovery by studying how patients respond to the stress of surgery. They will use smartwatches and questionnaires to gather information about the children's recovery, as well as look at certain proteins and substances in the blood that may indicate stress levels after surgery.
The study is open to children aged 3 to 18 who are having surgery for specific types of solid tumors, such as neuroblastoma or sarcoma. Participants will wear a smartwatch, complete questionnaires, and provide extra blood samples during their regular check-ups for the next year. Importantly, this study won’t change the way their medical care is delivered. Families will be compensated for their time. If you have a child who fits these criteria, this study could provide valuable insights into improving recovery for young cancer patients.
