ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding Japanese Encephalitis (JE), a serious brain infection, in children in Cambodia. The main goal is to measure how many children are affected by JE and to see how the virus is spread, even in those who don’t show symptoms. The study will look at two groups of children: one group will include healthy children without a fever, while the other will include children who are hospitalized with neurological problems and have had a fever recently. Researchers will also explore what factors might increase the risk of getting the virus and how severe the illness can be.

To participate in this study, children aged 2 to 14 years can join one of the two groups. The first group needs to be healthy and without a fever for the last two weeks, while the second group must be hospitalized with a fever and neurological symptoms. Families will need to agree to some follow-up visits and blood tests. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information that could help improve the understanding and treatment of Japanese Encephalitis in the future.
