ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether using a special protective cover, called the IV House Ultradressing, can help patients keep their peripheral venous catheters (PVCs) in place longer and reduce complications. PVCs are thin tubes inserted into a vein, often used for patients receiving treatment in an oncology clinic. The study will compare two groups of patients: one group will have the protective cover on their catheter, while the other group will not. Researchers want to find out if the cover makes a difference in how long the catheter can stay in without issues.
To participate in this trial, patients must be between 18 and 65 years old, currently hospitalized in the oncology clinic, and able to communicate without problems. They should also have a specific size catheter inserted and not have any skin issues at the catheter site. Throughout the study, participants will have their catheter monitored for how long it stays in place and any complications that may arise. It's important to note that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so those interested will need to wait for it to begin.
