ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how providing more information about getting help can encourage people who have issues with alcohol to seek support. Many individuals with risky drinking habits or alcohol dependence hesitate to reach out for help because they worry about the consequences or feel embarrassed. The good news is that if they do seek help, there are effective treatments available that can really improve their lives.
To participate in this study, individuals aged 65 to 74 who are experiencing risky alcohol use, as measured by a simple questionnaire called the AUDIT-C (a score of 3 or more), can sign up. However, those who are currently receiving care at an addiction clinic are not eligible. Participants can expect to receive information aimed at easing their concerns about seeking help and may find it easier to take that important step toward recovery. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and their involvement could help others in similar situations in the future.
