ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new device called the visionPRO, a type of video laryngoscope, to see if it works just as well as an established device known as the GlideScope for helping doctors insert a breathing tube during surgery. The goal is to find out if using the visionPRO leads to similar success rates in getting the tube in place on the first attempt, especially in patients who are expected to have a normal airway. The study will include about 100 patients who are 18 years or older and are scheduled for elective surgery requiring general anesthesia.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults having planned surgery with general anesthesia and need mechanical ventilation through an oral tube. However, people with certain health conditions that could make intubation difficult, such as obesity or specific airway issues, will not be included. Participants can expect to be monitored closely during the procedure, and their experiences with both devices will be compared. This study aims to provide valuable information about the effectiveness of the new visionPRO device in improving airway management during surgery.
