ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "SiS4" is testing a new smartphone app designed to help people who smoke occasionally (nondaily smokers) quit smoking. This app includes exercises that focus on positive thinking and provides proven tools to support users in their quitting journey. Researchers want to find out if this app is more effective than an existing app made for daily smokers, particularly in improving attitudes towards smoking, reducing cravings, and enhancing mental well-being during the quitting process.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old, live in the U.S., and smoke less than daily but at least weekly. You should also have a smartphone and be comfortable using online surveys. If you join, you'll use the app daily for seven weeks and answer surveys about your smoking habits and feelings at various times, including two weeks and three months after your chosen quit date. If the SiS4 app proves effective, it could become the first research-backed tool specifically for nondaily smokers looking to quit.
