ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best way to follow up with children who have a specific type of wrist fracture called a displaced metaphyseal forearm fracture. The goal is to compare two different follow-up methods to see which one helps children heal better and have fewer complications. In this trial, children will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will visit the hospital every week for four weeks to check their healing and have X-rays taken. The other group will also visit weekly, but during the third week, they will have a check-up using telemedicine, which means they can connect with their doctor online instead of going to the hospital.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be between 0 and 12 years old, have a wrist fracture that was seen at the hospital within 72 hours of the injury, and meet other specific conditions. It's important to note that children with certain complications, like open fractures or other serious injuries, won’t be included. If your child is eligible and participates, they can expect regular check-ins to monitor their healing, which will help doctors understand the best way to manage these types of fractures in the future.
