Hallux Valgus Tourniquet

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the use of a tourniquet during surgery for hallux valgus, a common foot condition often referred to as a bunion. The goal is to see if using a tourniquet can improve the outcomes of the surgery. In this trial, patients will have surgery on both feet on the same day, and their results will be compared to each other, as they will act as their own controls.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have signed a consent form. They should have a similar degree of hallux valgus on both feet, with no more than a 10-degree difference in the angle of the deformity. However, patients with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions affecting the foot are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive care and follow-up related to your surgery, and your experience will help researchers understand the best practices in treating this condition.
