ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how chemotherapy affects vital signs, such as heart rate and breathing, in patients with stomach or esophageal cancer. The researchers want to find out if a Fitbit, a type of smartwatch that tracks health data, can help monitor these changes while patients are undergoing treatment. Participants will wear the Fitbit during the first two cycles of their chemotherapy to see what changes occur in their vital parameters.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosis of stomach or esophageal cancer, and be starting chemotherapy. They should also be comfortable using a Fitbit and able to read and understand Dutch. Participants will need to give written consent to join the trial. It's important to note that individuals with cognitive disorders or severe emotional issues, or those already taking part in another exercise study, cannot participate. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to provide valuable information on monitoring health during cancer treatment.
