ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how resistance training, which includes exercises that help build muscle strength, can help adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) improve their overall health and quality of life. Congenital heart disease refers to heart problems that are present at birth, and many adults with this condition can experience challenges like muscle weakness and difficulty with daily activities. The study aims to see if doing resistance training either in a hospital or at home can reduce these issues and help participants feel better physically.
To be part of the trial, participants need to be between 18 and 45 years old and must have been diagnosed with congenital heart disease. They also need to be stable in their health and able to provide consent to join the study. However, people with other serious health conditions or those who are not able to undergo certain assessments will not be eligible. If someone joins the study, they can expect to follow a structured exercise program designed to strengthen their muscles and improve their fitness. This could lead to better health outcomes and a higher quality of life for those living with congenital heart disease.
