ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand the experiences and needs of young adults, aged 16 to 25, who have severe or uncontrolled asthma. Asthma is a long-term condition that can make it hard to breathe, and while most people can manage their asthma with medication, a smaller group struggles with more severe symptoms. In the UK, around 800,000 young adults live with asthma, and this study aims to gather information on their unique challenges and what type of care would help improve their situation.
If you are a young adult with severe or uncontrolled asthma and are treated at the Manchester or Liverpool severe asthma centers, you might be eligible to participate. Participants will take part in interviews, using photographs to share their stories, and group discussions to explore their thoughts on improving asthma care. At the end of the study, everyone involved will come together in a workshop to brainstorm ideas on how to make asthma care better for young adults. This research aims to shed light on what young people with asthma need, which will guide future improvements in their treatment and support.
