ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help adolescents with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), a condition where the spine curves abnormally. The researchers want to see how effective a combination of breathing exercises and a specific physical therapy technique called Schroth is in improving the condition. To do this, they will take full-body X-rays to measure how much the spine is curved and use a special ruler to assess how much the spine rotates when the participants bend forward. They will also ask questions about how scoliosis affects their daily lives and measure any pain they experience using a simple scale. Participants' breathing patterns will be checked by measuring the size of their chest.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be between 10 and 18 years old, have a specific degree of spinal curvature (Cobb angle) between 10 and 50 degrees, and have been diagnosed with AIS by a doctor. They should also have a certain body weight range. However, those who have had spine surgery or have certain medical conditions, such as psychiatric or neurological diseases, will not be included. If someone joins the study, they can expect to undergo these assessments and contribute to understanding how these exercises can help improve scoliosis management in teenagers.
