ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a specific gene related to a protein called TGF-β and how it might affect patients with leprosy. Leprosy is a long-lasting infectious disease that primarily impacts the skin, nerves, and other parts of the body. The researchers want to understand how variations in this gene could influence the healing process and response to treatment in people with leprosy.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and currently undergoing treatment for leprosy with a combination of medications. Unfortunately, if you have other skin diseases, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have autoimmune conditions, you won’t be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve understanding and treatment of leprosy for future patients.
