ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain settings and monitoring measures during mechanical ventilation (a machine that helps patients breathe) impact the success of weaning patients off the machine in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Weaning is the process of gradually stopping mechanical ventilation, which can be challenging for some patients. The researchers want to understand which specific factors, like the breathing settings on the machine, are linked to when patients struggle to breathe on their own after being taken off the ventilator.
If you're over 18 years old, have been on mechanical ventilation for at least 48 hours, and have gone through at least one attempt to breathe on your own (even if it was unsuccessful), you may be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will have their medical information reviewed to help identify patterns that might lead to better care in the future. This research aims to improve the process of helping patients breathe independently and reduce the chances of complications.
