ClinConnect Summary
The ATLAS trial is studying a new system called the AI-Assisted Telerehabilitation System, designed to help patients continue their rehabilitation after being discharged from the hospital. This system has two main parts: a special device called Rebee that assists patients during their hospital stay and helps them continue their physical exercises at home, and a structured program to train both patients and their caregivers on how to use Rebee effectively. The goal is to ensure that patients can keep up with their rehabilitation while they wait to attend a Day Rehabilitation Centre.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be 60 years or older, primarily speak English or Mandarin, and have had a total knee replacement or are experiencing deconditioning (loss of physical fitness). They should also be able to follow instructions and wear a motion sensor on their limbs. Unfortunately, those with cognitive impairments or certain infections won't be able to participate. If you join this trial, you can expect support in using the Rebee device and guidance on rehabilitation exercises to help improve your recovery at home.
