Scleroderma Inspiratory Muscle Training Pulmonary Functions

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a special type of breathing exercise, called High-Intensity Intermittent Inspiratory Muscle Training (H-IMT), can help patients with scleroderma who also have lung issues (known as interstitial lung disease, or ILD). The researchers want to see if this training can improve lung strength, overall health, and daily activities for these patients. The study will include 30 participants aged 18 to 65 who have been stable in their treatment for the past three months and are willing to join the study.

Participants will be randomly divided into two groups: one will do the breathing exercises along with regular exercises, while the other group will only do the regular exercises. Throughout the study, the researchers will measure things like how well participants can breathe, how tired they feel, and how their quality of life changes. It's important to know that individuals who are pregnant, have certain cancers, or other serious health issues will not be eligible to participate. If you fit the criteria and are interested, this study could offer valuable insights into improving health for scleroderma patients.
