ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether atorvastatin, a medication commonly used to lower cholesterol, can help protect the heart from damage during chemotherapy in patients with certain blood cancers, specifically acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Chemotherapy drugs called anthracyclines can sometimes harm the heart, so researchers want to see if atorvastatin can improve heart function and reduce this risk. The trial will include 46 participants aged 18 and older who are receiving specific chemotherapy regimens for their conditions.
To be eligible, participants must be diagnosed with AML or NHL and have a good heart function, as measured by a test that looks at how well the heart pumps blood. The study will be carefully conducted, ensuring that all participants give their consent and that their personal information is kept private. Those involved will be monitored for their heart health during the trial, and the findings will be shared in scientific journals to help improve care for future patients.
