ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to compare two creams, Efudix (5-fluorouracil) and Dovonex (calcipotriol), to see which one works better when used before a treatment called Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for actinic keratoses, which are rough, scaly spots on the skin caused by sun damage. The goal is to find out if using either of these creams for a week before PDT helps improve the treatment results and which cream is better tolerated by patients.
To participate in this trial, you must be an adult over 18 years old with actinic keratoses on your scalp and generally in good health. However, if you have a weakened immune system, are unable to give consent, have certain allergies, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you will not be eligible. If you join, you'll apply one of the creams for seven days before your first PDT session, and then you'll have follow-up appointments to monitor your progress over the next year. This will involve checking and photographing the spots to see how they improve with treatment.
