ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new technique called Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Exposure (IHHE), which involves alternating between low and high levels of oxygen. The aim is to see how this method affects heart and lung health, blood pressure, and oxygen levels in older adults. Researchers believe that this exposure may have benefits for the cardiorespiratory system, particularly for those who are less active.
To participate, individuals must be over 60 years old, not have experience with this type of training, and engage in less than 150 minutes of physical activity each week. Those with certain health conditions, such as severe heart or lung diseases, cognitive impairments, or a history of cancer, cannot take part. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will experience the IHHE sessions, while the other will receive a standard air treatment. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it offers a unique opportunity to explore how oxygen levels can potentially improve health in older adults.
