ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the quality of certain muscles in the lower back and abdomen affects the risk of vertebral fractures in women over the age of 60. The researchers are particularly interested in using a special imaging technique called elastography to measure the muscle quality. They want to find out if better muscle quality can help reduce the risk of fractures and if it also relates to balance and overall quality of life for older women.
To participate in the study, you need to be a woman who is at least 60 years old. However, there are some health conditions that would exclude you from joining, such as having had spine surgery, certain cancers, or severe issues with your spine or kidneys. If you decide to take part, you can expect to have your muscle quality assessed through elastography, and you’ll help researchers learn more about how muscle health can impact fractures and balance in older adults.
