ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method called photobiomodulation (PBM), which uses a special light device to help reduce pain and discomfort during dental treatments for children. The goal is to see if this light treatment can make dental visits easier for kids by testing it in different ways. For example, one part of the study will check if PBM can help make teeth and gums less sensitive when they are touched or tested with cold. Another part will look at whether using PBM on the gums before giving an injection can make that process less uncomfortable. Lastly, the trial will investigate if PBM can be used to do simple dental fillings on baby teeth without needing any numbing shots.
The trial is looking for healthy children ages 6 to 12 who need routine dental care. However, children who have trouble cooperating during dental visits or have significant medical issues won’t be able to participate. If a child is eligible and joins the study, they can expect to receive the light treatment during their dental visits, which might help them feel more comfortable. This research aims to make dental experiences better for kids, so they don’t have to worry as much about pain during their appointments.
