ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the effects of a special type of therapy called Modified Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (mCIMT) on improving the use of the arms and hands in people who have had a stroke. The study compares this therapy, which includes some trunk restraint, to standard physical therapy to see which one helps improve movement, balance, and overall quality of life for patients who have weakness on one side of their body (hemiplegia) due to a stroke that happened more than six months ago.
To participate in the trial, individuals need to be between 45 and 65 years old, have some movement ability in their affected arm, and be able to understand simple instructions. They should also have no other serious brain conditions. Participants will engage in therapy sessions designed to help them regain strength and function in their upper extremities. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to provide valuable insights that could lead to better rehabilitation methods for stroke patients.
