ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how an electronic tool can help doctors better evaluate and treat children with mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI), like concussions. The trial involves six primary care practices in Philadelphia that will use this tool as part of their regular care for kids aged 5 to 18. The tool helps doctors predict which children are at risk for ongoing symptoms and suggests when they should see a specialist. The goal is to see if using this tool can help kids recover from their symptoms more quickly compared to other practices.
To participate in the trial, children must be between 5 and 18 years old and have been evaluated for a mild traumatic brain injury at one of the participating primary care practices. However, children with more serious brain injuries will not be included. If your child is eligible and participates, they will receive care that includes this new electronic decision support tool, which aims to improve their recovery experience.
