ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how effective telephone assessments are for patients scheduled for non-cardiac elective surgery compared to traditional in-person evaluations. The main goal is to find out if using phone calls for pre-anesthetic evaluations increases the chance of surgeries being canceled. This is important because telemedicine has been used in Colombia to make healthcare more accessible, but we need to understand if it works as well for surgical patients.
To be eligible for this study, patients should be adults scheduled for elective surgeries that are not related to the heart. However, pregnant patients and those who have a long gap between their assessment and surgery won't be included. If you participate, you'll have your medical records reviewed to compare the outcomes of those who had their evaluations over the phone versus in person. This research could help improve how we prepare patients for surgery, making the process smoother and potentially reducing cancellations.
