ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the use of chest ultrasound to better understand and manage respiratory tract infections in patients. Respiratory tract infections can affect people of all ages and often lead to hospitalizations. The goal of this trial is to see if using ultrasound along with regular check-ups can help doctors predict how severe a patient's condition might be and what kind of treatment they may need, such as whether they will require hospital care or more intensive respiratory support.

To participate in this trial, patients must be between 0 to 20 years old and have a diagnosis of a respiratory tract infection, which will be evaluated in an emergency department. Parents or guardians will need to provide consent for younger patients. However, some patients, such as those with certain lung conditions, heart diseases, or who refuse to sign consent, will not be included in the study. If eligible, participants can expect to receive standard care along with ultrasound assessments, which may help improve how their infection is managed.
