ClinConnect Summary

The High Resolution Anuscopy Study is focused on understanding how high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is linked to anal squamous cell carcinoma, a type of cancer that starts in the anal area. While this cancer is uncommon in the general population, certain groups are affected more frequently. The study aims to gather important information by looking at patients who have undergone a specific examination called high-resolution anoscopy (HRA), which helps identify early signs of cancer in the anal canal. By collecting and analyzing data from these patients, researchers hope to answer key questions that could improve treatment and understanding of this condition.

To participate in the study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have undergone or be referred for HRA at UZ Brussel. They should also be able to communicate in French, Dutch, or English. There are no specific exclusions for this trial, making it accessible to a broad range of participants. Those who join can expect to contribute to important research that may lead to better screening and treatment options for anal cancer and HPV-related issues.
