ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to compare two different sizes of sutures used in a specific dental procedure aimed at treating gum recession, which is when the gum pulls back from the teeth. The study will involve 40 patients who have at least one area of gum recession classified as RT1. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive the same surgical procedure, which involves a technique called advanced coronary flap and a connective tissue graft, but with either a thicker suture (3.0 diameter) or a thinner suture (6.0 diameter). The main goal is to see how well these sutures help achieve complete coverage of the exposed tooth roots after six months.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 75, have healthy gum conditions, and should not be smokers or have any health issues that could affect their dental treatment. Throughout the study, patients will go through assessments to measure various aspects of their gum health and will also share their own experiences regarding discomfort and satisfaction with the treatment. This feedback is important as it helps understand how the different sutures impact not just the clinical outcomes but also the patients' comfort and satisfaction with the results.
