ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into the outcomes of a surgical procedure called distal hypospadias repair, which is performed on boys who have a condition known as distal penile hypospadias. This means that in these boys, the opening of the urethra (the tube that carries urine) is not located at the tip of the penis but instead is positioned lower down. The goal of the study is to understand what factors before the surgery might affect how well the surgery works.
To be eligible for this trial, boys must be uncircumcised and diagnosed with distal hypospadias, and they should not have had any previous surgeries related to this condition. The trial is not currently recruiting participants, but once it starts, families can expect to learn more about how different characteristics may influence the results of the surgery. It’s important for potential participants to know that boys who have had any previous surgery in the area, or who choose not to participate, will not be included in the study.
