ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of behaviors influence alcohol use disorder (AUD). Researchers want to understand how habits and automatic responses affect the ability to control drinking. They will use a special task called the Action-Sequence-Task (AST) to see how people with AUD perform compared to those without the disorder. The goal is to find out if people with AUD rely more on habits when making decisions about drinking, and how this impacts their behavior.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have been diagnosed with alcohol use disorder. You should be able to use a computer and understand German well enough to complete questionnaires. If you have a history of certain mental health disorders, severe depression, are pregnant, or experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, you may not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in tasks that assess their decision-making and behavior regarding alcohol use, helping researchers learn more about the underlying processes of AUD. Your involvement could contribute to better understanding and treatment options for people struggling with alcohol addiction.
