ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the dental health of middle-aged individuals with Type 2 diabetes, specifically looking at how common tooth decay, known as caries, is among them. The researchers want to understand how factors like poor blood sugar control, less saliva production, and gum disease can increase the risk of tooth decay in these patients. They will also examine how changes related to diabetes, such as gum recession and dry mouth, affect the severity of dental issues. The goal is to gather information that could help improve dental care and prevention strategies for people living with diabetes.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between the ages of 30 and 65, have a diagnosis of diabetes, and be willing to cooperate during their visits to the outpatient clinic. Both men and women are eligible, but pregnant women and those with certain disabilities will not be included. Participants can expect to have their dental health assessed and will contribute to important research that could lead to better dental care practices for people with diabetes.
