ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how improving nutritional status can affect patients with bronchiectasis during acute flare-ups of their condition. Bronchiectasis is a long-term lung disease that causes frequent infections and breathing difficulties. The trial aims to see if better nutrition can lead to better health outcomes for patients who are experiencing worsening symptoms and are also at risk of being malnourished.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 18 or older, diagnosed with bronchiectasis, and currently facing an acute exacerbation, which means their symptoms are getting worse. They should also be identified as malnourished or at risk of malnutrition. Those with cognitive impairments, who receive special feeding methods, or who have had recent significant dietary changes will not be included. Participants can expect to receive support and guidance on nutrition to help improve their overall health during the trial.
