ClinConnect Summary

The SMART study is researching a rare heart condition called Anomalous Aortic Origin of the Coronary Arteries (AAOCA), which can lead to serious health issues like sudden cardiac death, especially in young athletes. The goal of this trial is to improve how we diagnose and evaluate patients with AAOCA using advanced computer technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D modeling. By doing this, researchers hope to create a more personalized and accurate risk assessment for patients, helping doctors identify those who may be at greater risk for heart problems.

To participate in this study, patients must be at least 6 years old and have AAOCA, among other specific health criteria. Participants will undergo various tests that will help create a detailed picture of their heart's anatomy and function. This information will be used to develop a risk model that can guide their treatment and management. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to make the diagnostic process for this rare condition more accessible across different hospitals.
