ClinConnect Summary

The TELÉMACO Trial is studying how a special program aimed at improving the use of antibiotics can help patients with community-acquired infections, which are infections that people get outside of hospitals. This trial involves primary care centers, and it uses telematic educational interviews, meaning that healthcare professionals will have virtual meetings to discuss best practices for prescribing antibiotics. The goal is to see if this approach can lead to better patient outcomes and reduce the negative effects of antibiotics on our health and the environment.

If you are a patient receiving care at a primary care center linked to the University Hospital Virgen del Rocío, you may be eligible to participate in this trial. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all ages and genders, but it does not include those who are being treated in emergency departments or dental offices. If you join, you can expect to take part in discussions about antibiotics and learn how to use them responsibly, which can ultimately help you and your community stay healthier.
