ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special training on wiping baths for newborns affects when they can take their first bath, their body temperature during and after bathing, and how quickly their umbilical cord falls off. To participate, women must be pregnant, able to understand Turkish, and have a healthy pregnancy between 38 to 40 weeks. They should also have a thermometer at home to measure their baby's temperature and be willing to follow up after birth. Unfortunately, newborns who are premature, have a low birth weight, or certain health issues won't be part of this study.
Participants in the trial will be randomly assigned to two groups. One group will receive special training on how to give a wiping bath to their newborns, while the other group will follow the regular hospital guidelines without any additional training. After birth, researchers will contact the mothers by phone to gather information about their baby's first bath, the time it takes for the umbilical cord to fall off, and the baby's temperature before and after bathing. This study aims to provide useful insights into the best practices for newborn care.
