ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how health literacy, which is the ability to understand and use health information, affects elderly patients with heart diseases. Researchers want to find out if a person's understanding of health information influences the connection between their gender, how they view their illness, and their confidence in managing their health (this is called self-efficacy). The study will involve participants completing online surveys over a year to share their experiences and feelings about their health.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 30 years old and have a diagnosed heart condition, such as heart failure or arrhythmia. You should also be able to understand the survey questions and be receiving regular medical care for your heart issue. Unfortunately, individuals with severe cognitive impairments or terminal illnesses will not be eligible to participate. If you join the study, you'll help researchers learn more about how health literacy can impact the lives of elderly patients with heart diseases, potentially leading to improved care and support in the future.
