ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of exercises, when combined with a type of dental appliance called an occlusal splint, can help people with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). TMD is a condition that affects the jaw joint and can cause pain and discomfort. In this study, 57 patients diagnosed with a specific type of TMD will be divided into three groups. One group will only receive the occlusal splint, while the other two groups will also do different exercise programs—one focusing on Rocabado exercises and the other on postural exercises.
To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old, diagnosed with the specific type of TMD, and able to communicate in Turkish. They should not have had recent trauma or surgery related to their jaw or neck, nor have certain other medical conditions. Participants will first complete a questionnaire to assess their symptoms and pain levels. After two months of treatment, they will return for follow-up tests to see how effective the different treatments were. This trial aims to find out which approach works best for relieving TMD symptoms.
