ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether providing education to mothers before an elective cesarean delivery can help reduce shivering during the surgery. Shivering can occur when the body reacts to spinal anesthesia, which is commonly used during this type of surgery. The researchers want to find out if learning more about the procedure from anesthesiologists beforehand can help prevent this uncomfortable side effect.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be women aged 19 or older, who are at least 37 weeks pregnant and scheduled for an elective cesarean delivery. Unfortunately, those who are having an emergency surgery, showing signs of labor, or have certain health issues that may complicate the anesthesia will not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive valuable information about what to expect during your surgery, which may help lessen the chance of shivering while you’re in the operating room.
